Death of Poussin

The Death of Poussin, Félix BraquemondEtching depicting the death of French painter Nicolas Poussin in the presence of Cardinal Massimo by Félix Braquemond after the painting by François-Marius Granet (Villa Demidoff, Florence). At the left, over the head of the dying painter you can see Poussin’s most famous work: the second version of The Shepherd’s of Arcadia. This indicates that tis painting must have been of great value to the artist.

Many thanks to Belgian researcher Kurt Impens for sharing this with me.
